Why always bard? I have never been a bard fun (i used Haerdalis and never like It) and i dont know how to use them properly Yes. Wild Mage Do you thing its beatable on Insane with a 4-party? My default blockbuster party is:įighter / Druid (either Multi or Dual F4/Druid) Skald + Blackguard is silly strong.īut there are just so many good combinations when you make a full party. It plays extremely well with the new Classes like Dwarven Defender, Blackguard, Dragon Deciple and more. Originally posted by Zotliatlicor:Always a Bard included. Absolutely annihilated Yxunomei last night which was a very hard battle my last time around. I do tend to let my two heaviest armoured and shielded go first in every fight though and it's worked well so far. I've seen that will change later in the game, but really quite late into it. This is a good idea, I have found one issue with my party is the lack of decent armour in IWD, there's not many sets of +Plate about or Full plate. Bows are very powerful in IWD and an elf F/M/T can take full advantage. I think the optimal party for a quick run-through would be Paladin/Dwarven Defender(with warhammer/throwing axes), Fighter/(Cleric/Druid), Elf F/M/T(longsword/longbow). Could just as easily have went with a four man party and replaced Bard, Thief, and Illusionist with a single F/M/T only problem being F/M/T levels slowly and as such is very mediocre for a large portion of the game. This Party was chosen mainly to take advantage of powerful gear such as Elven Chainmail, Defender Helm etc. I have never used axes in BG/BG2/IWD and will take your advice on board! Great setup. I learned in BG2 with Jan and Aerie how useful MC are, although saw the limitations of reaching the final spells a bit later too. Hahahhaa I actually laughed aloud at the everyones exploding part xD no doubt there are chunks and gibs everywhere with a half orc crew! I see you also went for a multiclass heavy party, it sure does seem to be advantageous having them. axe grandmastery combines melee weapon and ranged weapon in one mastery. I will also say getting axe grandmastery is good for a fighter, there is a magic throwing axe that returns to your hand available maybe 1/3 of the way through the game, only +2 ranged weapon with unlimited +2 ammo. That quote was my reply to this similar thread. every enemy is exploding into pieces rather than leaving a corpse Originally posted by Scathe:1 - half orc fighterġ9 strength on all half orcs. To anyone replying was the choices of races random, for colour, or roleplaying? I like to switch it up every run myself on any game of this type and create stories in my head for why haha I'm really intrigued by your choice of a Fighter/Illusionist! That shows some real thought there. I see you went for a bard which I ummed and arred about for ages before going for my illusionist/thief. This is the beauty of these games it's just creativity and imagination. Oh wow this is really cool, every class multi'd! I love it. I always multi-class where possible it's just too powerful.
